SAGE Eldercare, a non-profit organization which serves older adults and their caregivers in New Jersey, is pleased to announce the addition of two Summit residents to its Board of Trustees, and changes in its Executive Committee for 2017 including naming John Hoffman as Board President.
Joining SAGE as a Board community representative is David Bomgaars, a Summit resident since 1985. He was previously the Summit City Council President, a City Councilman, President of the Summit Board of Education, and an officer with the Summit Republican City Committee. Bomgaars is the Board President of Family & Children’s Services and an Elder and Clerk of Session of Central Presbyterian Church and had a career in the bank regulation industry.
Also joining the Board is Christopher Cotter, of Cotter Strategies. Involved in Summit since 1975, he was previously Summit’s City Administrator, Emergency Management Coordinator, and Fire Chief. Cotter is a member of the Overlook Medical Center Advisory Board and a volunteer for Summit Helping Its People (SHIP), as well as a parishioner at St. Teresa of Avila Church.
Chatham resident John Hoffman, who had been Treasurer of the Board and a Trustee since 2011, has been named Board President. Chatham resident Kathy Clingan, who had been Secretary and a Trustee since 2010, was named Vice President. Summit resident Michael J. Foncannon, of PNC Wealth Management and Board member since 2016, was named Secretary. Ewing resident Susan Gieser, of Waters, McPherson, McNeill, P.C., a Board member since 2015, was named Treasurer.
Leaving the board are Livingston resident Bruce Johnson, a Board member for 12 years including a time as President; Summit resident Carol Graham, who served six years; and New Providence resident Mary Lou Leib, of C.R. Bard, who served four years.
2016 Board President Kitty Hartman, of New Providence, remains a Trustee and a member of the Executive Committee. She has served on the SAGE Board since 2009. The Executive Committee also includes Hoffman, Clingan, Foncannon, and Gieser.
