SAGE will offer a free “How to Walk Safely in Distracted Times” presentation on October 3, 10-11 am.

Led by Judy Bortman, Marketing Specialist at TransOptions, the presentation will highlight practical walking tips and ways to be alert, visible, and safe pedestrians. “Seniors need to be aware and stay alert each time they step off the curb, walk in a parking lot, or get out of a car or senior bus.  Walking safely yields benefits, too, by helping seniors remain independent, stay mobile, and enhance their overall well-being.  Get practical tips to be a safe pedestrian and savvy senior in a changing world by attending this free, informative program,” Bortman said.

Bortman is a longstanding advocate for pedestrian safety and senior driving.  TransOptions is a non-profit transportation consultancy that delivers programs and services that improve mobility, the environment, and overall quality of life in northwest New Jersey.
