To support those affected by Alzheimer’s and to raise funds and awareness to fight this disease, a team from SAGE Eldercare will participate in its sixth Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s on October 7 at Liberty State Park in Jersey City.
“With as many as 500,000 people in New Jersey affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia, and 10 million baby boomers aging in America and increasing their risk for developing this fatal disease, now is the time to end this epidemic. As an advocate and provider of programs and services for individuals with Alzheimer’s, SAGE Eldercare is proud to support and participate in this event,” said Leslie Ortenzi, SAGE Spend-A-Day Social Worker, who leads Team SAGE.
The Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s is Alzheimer’s New Jersey’s largest fundraising event, and 100 percent of the donations support New Jersey families and individuals. Alzheimer’s New Jersey has been providing care and support for New Jersey families impacted by Alzheimer’s since 1985 and is dedicated to research for a cure.
The Walk to Fight Alzheimer’s on Saturday, October 7 begins with registration at 8:30 am, a kick off rally at 9:30 am, and the walk at 10 am at Liberty State Park, 1 Audrey Zapp Drive, Jersey City, NJ.
