Transportation options and how to travel independently on New Jersey Transit buses and trains will be discussed at a “New Jersey Transit 101” program scheduled for October 6 at SAGE Eldercare.

Louis Hoffman, a training coordinator from NJTIP @ Rutgers (the New Jersey Travel Independence Program and a transportation research and education organization), will teach adults to navigate New Jersey Transit, how to plan a trip, obtain tickets, pay cash fares, and understand different paratransit options.

Hoffman has worked as a travel instructor for NJTIP since 2008. He is a graduate of the School of Social Work at Rutgers, and specializes in group travel instruction programs for older adults and people with disabilities.

“Transportation is a vital part of independent living, which is at the core of SAGE Eldercare’s mission. We are pleased to offer this program to the community,” said SAGE Executive Director Angela Sullivan.

The free program will be held 1-2 pm on Thursday, October 6, at SAGE Eldercare, 290 Broad Street, Summit. To register, or for more information, please call: 908.598.5548 or email: education@sageeldercare.temp312.kinsta.cloud.
