A new caregiver support group for adult children who assist in the caregiving of their aging parents will start at SAGE Eldercare on September 18.
The free support group will be led by Kathy Larkin, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and SAGE InfoCare Manager. It takes place every other Monday in the evenings, 7 – 8:30 pm. The group will cover topics such as balancing work and the needs of their families, long-distance caregiving, family conflicts, finding resources, and navigating the healthcare system.
Larkin also leads a caregiver support group for spouses which takes place every other Monday during the day, 2 – 3:30 pm.
Both groups are held at SAGE, 290 Broad Street, Summit. Registration is required for the support groups. To register, please call Larkin at: 908.598.5509.
“Caregiving can be gratifying, but it is also very challenging.
