A free screening of the “Being Mortal” documentary will be held at SAGE Eldercare, 290 Broad Street, Summit, at 6:30 pm on Thursday, February 16, 2017. After the screening, attendees can participate in a guided conversation on identifying and communicating wishes about end-of-life goals and preferences.

 

The film is based on the bestselling book by Dr. Atul Gawande, MD, MPH, and is presented by the Atlantic Health System, The Hospice Foundation of American, a grant from the John & Wauna Harman Foundation, SAGE, and the Summit Area YMCA. It aired on the PBS program “Frontline” in 2015 and delves into the hopes of patients and families facing terminal illness.
