Audiologist Leslie Herman will hold a program about the impact of untreated hearing loss at SAGE Eldercare on Wednesday, April 19, 1 – 2 pm.
Herman, Au.D., founder of the Summit Hearing Aid Center, will discuss how untreated hearing loss can cause social isolation, increase the risk of falling, and coincide with depression or dementia.
“Recent studies have shown that treating hearing loss contributes to overall physical and mental wellness. Our goal is improve our patient’s quality of life through better hearing. I look forward to giving my presentation at SAGE, to older adults, caregivers, and staff,” Herman said.

Herman founded the Summit Hearing Aid Center, 75 Summit Avenue, Summit, in 1983. She received her Doctor of Audiology degree in 2005 from the Arizona School of Health Sciences, a master’s degree in audiology from Washington University in St. Louis, and a bachelor’s degree in speech pathology from Syracuse University.
